Hi everyone! I'm Olivia, and I'm thrilled to share my exciting journey with you. At just 10 years old, I've had the amazing opportunity to be a part of something truly magical – the production of "Charlie". Let me take you behind the scenes and share some of my favourite moments and quirks along the way.
First things first, let's talk about the music. Oh, the music! The songs in "Charlie" are like bursts of sunshine on a cloudy day. They're so uplifting that they make the whole show come to life. From the first note to the final crescendo, each melody fills me with joy and excitement. And let me tell you, there's nothing quite like the buzz I feel before stepping onto that stage.
Now, let's address the elephant in the room – the role of Charlie. When I was cast, I was drawn to the challenge of playing a boy as a lead character. But what really sealed the deal for me was the opportunity to belt out those strong musical theatre tunes that Charlie sings. They fit my voice like a glove, and I couldn't wait to dive into rehearsals.
Speaking of rehearsals, learning lines and songs has been quite the adventure. My mom and I have made it a fun bonding experience, going through a few pages of script every few days. It's amazing how repetition can turn words on a page into a living, breathing story.
Now, here's a fun fact about me – I'm not a fan of chocolate. Shocking, right? But if I had to choose, I'd go for dark chocolate like Bournville. However, I much prefer sweets! In fact, I've even come up with my own sweet invention – the Flumptious Floating Firecracker bar. Picture this: a bar that floats when you unwrap it, and when you put it in your mouth, it crackles like popping candy. Delicious, right?
When it comes to characters, Violet Beauregarde is my spirit animal. She's sassy, confident, and loves to chew gum all day – just like me! Playing her would be an absolute dream.
Now, onto a little ritual of mine. On performance days, my mom always lets me have a Coke. It gives me a much-needed boost of energy and keeps me going through those long rehearsals and adrenaline-filled moments on stage.
Fun fact number two – I played Summer in "School of Rock" back in 2023. It was an incredible experience that only fuelled my passion for performing even more. Oh, and did I mention I'm really good at playing pool?
Lastly, why should you come see "Charlie"? Well, besides the fact that it will ignite your pure imagination, it's a classic story by Roald Dahl that everyone knows and loves. Plus, the cast and crew have worked tirelessly to bring this production to life, and by supporting your local theatre group, you become a part of something truly special.
So there you have it, folks – my journey with "Charlie" in a nutshell. I hope to see you in the audience, cheering us on as we embark on this magical adventure together!
