Hey everyone! Tegan here, and I'm absolutely buzzing to share a sneak peek into my whirlwind journey with CAODS (County Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society Lincoln). At just 14 years old, I've had the incredible opportunity to wear many hats in our production of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" – from reporter to Oompa Loompa to ensemble member. Let me take you on a wild ride through the ups and downs of my experience so far.
Jumping into the show a bit later meant I had some catching up to do. Learning the songs and choreography in my own time was a bit of a challenge, but hey, I love a good challenge! With determination and a few late-night rehearsals, I managed to get up to speed and dive headfirst into the magic of the show.
Now, let's talk favourite scenes. For me, nothing beats the sheer hilarity of Augustus' demise. The dance for his death scene is an absolute riot – it's funny, it's energetic, and it's a total blast to perform. Plus, there's something strangely satisfying about embodying an Oompa Loompa and dancing around the stage with wild abandon!
When it comes to chocolate, MINI EGGS are my ultimate weakness. There's just something so irresistible about those little bundles of chocolatey goodness – I could eat them by the bucketful! And if I had the chance to invent a new chocolate bar? Well, it would be a fusion of MINI EGGS and Marvellous Creations, because why settle for one when you can have the best of both worlds?
As for my favourite song in the show, it has to be "Auf Wiedersehen Augustus Gloop." There's something about the catchy melody and playful lyrics that never fails to put a smile on my face. Plus, it's a total bop to sing along to!
This isn't my first show with CAODS – I've been lucky enough to be involved in productions like "The King and I," "Evita," "School of Rock," and "Elf the Musical." Each experience has been a stepping stone in my journey as a performer, and I'm beyond grateful for the opportunities I've had to grow and learn.
In conclusion, my time with CAODS has been nothing short of magical. From late-night rehearsals to hilarious dance numbers, it's been an adventure I'll never forget. And to anyone considering coming to see "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" – trust me, you won't want to miss it! With its unforgettable characters, toe-tapping tunes, and plenty of chocolatey delights, it's a show that's guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face.
So come join us and let's make some sweet memories together! 🍫✨
