With One Look: William’s Review of Sunset Boulevard with CAODS

info3586036

This is my blog post/review of the CAODS production of Sunset Boulevard, which I saw at the New Theatre Royal in Lincoln on Thursday, 7th November 2024.

It was absolutely brilliant, especially the performances by my two good friends, Nicola Jayne as Norma Desmond and Simon Nicholson as Max. Nicola was incredible, delivering stunning renditions of With One Look, The Perfect Year, and As If We Never Said Goodbye. Simon also shone as Max, particularly with his moving performance of The Greatest Star of All.

I also loved the orchestra, especially during the Entr’Acte and Exit Music, which added to the show’s atmosphere.

Before the performance, I received a souvenir programme as a special gift from my good friend Eira Hammond—thank you, Eira! During the interval, I had the chance to meet two friends who know me from Facebook, which made the evening even more special.

This production of Sunset Boulevard was truly West End-worthy, and I feel so lucky to have experienced it!

CAODS Comment:

As a side note, CAODS shared a lovely message on social media that evening, recognising William's involvement with the group since Sweeney Todd in 2022. Helping out front of house, selling programmes, and meeting the audience; it has been such a joy to have William part of our team, and we hope he knows how much his contributions are appreciated.

On this special night, William got to relax and enjoy the incredible performance he's supported so passionately.

Here's a few photos of the show to remind our audiences how spectacular it was!
