Thanks for stopping by the website of the The County Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (CAODS). We are based in Lincoln, the county town of Lincolnshire in the UK and we produce major musical productions at the Lincoln Theatre Royal. Our last major production at the Theatre, was the award winning "Sister Act" in October 2015 and we will be returning to tread the boards on that stage with our next production, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" in October 2016. This will be one of the first amateur productions of this musical in the UK.
We're very proud of our rich history of producing a range of high quality musicals and drama performances for the people of Lincolnshire and beyond, and we're always on the look out for new and exciting individuals to join our society. It doesn't matter if you have a passion for singing and dancing, acting alone is more your thing, or you'd like to help out behind the scenes. We want to hear from you!

Following last years award winning production of ‘Sister Act’, CAODS are delighted to be back at the Theatre Royal with this production of ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’…the stage musical made popular by the 1988 MGM film. The show takes us to the French Riviera for high jinks and hilarity. Featuring a delightfully jazzy score by David Yazbek (The Full Monty), the Broadway production was nominated for a staggering 11 Tony Awards.
Tickets for this exciting new musical, one of the first amateur productions in the UK, are available from our website or in person at Lincoln Theatre Royal Box Office (cash or cheque payments only). You can also purchase tickets via cash or cheque by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or calling the box office on 0845 652 5021
Our most recent production, Sister Act, took place at Lincoln Theatre Royal from the 21st - 31st October 2015. We had some wonderful comments about the show across the two weeks and some of the biggest audiences CAODS have seen for many years. As a society, we're so pleased that you all enjoyed this production, one of the first amateur performances of Sister Act in the UK.
Featuring original music (different to the film version) by Tony and 8-time Oscar winner, Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Beauty and the Beast), Sister Act tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look: a convent. Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own.
At the recent NODA East Midlands regional awards 2016, our production of "Sister Act" was named Best Musical - Region 4. We are very proud of this and would like to thank our talented cast, crew and production for all the hard work they put in to make the show such a success. Although we have been nominated in the past, we have never won an award for one of our musicals in 65 years. For this reason, Sister Act will always be very special to us as a society.
Each year COADS choose a charity to support with various fund raising activities at our productions and social events. Throughout 2016 we will be supporting the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, a charity that was chosen by CAODS members at our 2016 AGM.
The Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance are based at two offices; HQ in Bracebridge Heath in Lincolnshire, just down the road from RAF Waddington where the Helicopter and crew are, and Colwick in Nottingham. Every year they need to raise £2.1 million to keep the Air Ambulance flying. More information can be found on the website.
